This is part 3 of my series of videos on how to keep bees. It has been twenty days since we installed the bees and queen into the hive. In this part we check on the health of the hive, find the queen and see if they are making comb.
I also show you a couple of neat beekeeping tools including a frame puller and a perch tool for holding the frames.
Part1: We pick up a package of bees with a queen and about 10,000 bees and we install it into the hive.
Part 2: Three days later we take a look to see if everything is ok. Are the bees still there? Did they leave? Are they making this their new home?
