The midlands club have had massive investment from a Chinese conglomerate group Fosun International to get them promoted into the Premier League. The consortium has drafted in Jorge Mendes to big Europe’s top talents to the Molineux. Wolves have seen a number of the World’s top young players join in recent years including Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Jonny alongside seasoned professionals - Joao Mourinho, Rui Patricio, Wily Boly and Raul Jimenez.
The brilliance of Nuno Santo has been his ability to blend his foreign imports with players already at the club and players from the Wolves academy. With the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White, Conor Coady, Matt Doherty and Ryan Bennett.
Santo tended to play a 3-4-3 in the Championship, but has slightly tweaked his system in the Premier League. Moving to more of a 3-5-2. This has allowed Wolves to control games with Neves at the base of midfield and Moutinho and Dendoncker sitting just ahead. This has also allow Wolves to build a destructive strike force of Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez which has been deadly in recent weeks.
