Want to make cheap but great looking dungeons for table top gaming?
You can have this dungeon base completed in about four hours.
This is part 1 of a 3 part series on how to make fast, easy, and cheap dungeon terrain using foam you can buy at any home improvement store. In this part I show you how to make the table top grid base of the dungeon.
This foam is durable and very easy to work with. And it is modular you can put pieces together to make a dungeon of any size you want. I make one that is two feet square.
In part 2 of this series (n https://youtu.be/z0vYqhUuhXY ) I show you how to make the modular walls of the dungeon. They are modular which means you can lay them out in any number of configurations to change the layout of your dungeon. You get a new dungeon every time you play.
In part 3 of this series I do an animation of a band of adventurers exploring this dungeon.
If you have some basic arts and crafts materials your cost to make this terrain is eleven dollars for the foam. And that will give you an enormous 16 square feet of dungeon.
The product I use is something called expanded polystyrene. It is used as an insulating material in home building and it goes by different names. The dow product (blue) is called styrofoam. The Owens corning product (pink) is called foamular. They are both the same. Get the one inch thick sheet.
Some home improvement stores will sell it in two foot squares called “Project board”. This is typically green but is the same exact stuff.
Lowes: Dow styrofoam for home insulation (Blue color)
Home Depot: Owens Corning Foamular (Pink Color)
