Solskjaer goes into the game with momentum having dispatched Spurs 1-0, Arsenal 3-1 and Chelsea 2-0 in recent weeks. Jurgen Klopp has a poor record against Manchester United as Liverpool manager having only won twice, draw four games and lost three in nine games.
Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford have been in hot form since Solskjaer took over as interim manager. Pogba has been directly involved in 15 goals in Solskjaer’s 12 games in charge. Rashford has scored six goals and grabbed two assists in the same period. For Man Utd, Pogba and Rashford will be key if United are to dent Klopp’s title challenge. The Liverpool have not won a league title in 29 years, in the same period Man Utd have won the Premier League a record 13 times.
Manchester United are expected to set up in a 4-4-2 - De Gea; Young, Bailly, Lindelof, Shaw; Mata, Herrera, Matic, Pogba; Rashford, Lukaku. Expect Liverpool to continue with their 4-3-3 - Allison; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson; Milner, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane. The only curve ball from Klopp could be using Xherdan Shaqiri as a number 10.
