Raheem Sterling has taken his football to the next level under Pep Guardiola, but how could the England international translate that Manchester City form to Gareth Southgates side? The lack of creators around Sterling at England could be the case, but the additions of James Maddison, Mason Mount and Jadon Sancho could change that.
Going into Euro 2020 we could see a different Sterling for England. One of the ways Southagte could use Raheem Sterling is as a false-nine, Sterling has become lethal in the central areas under Pep Guardiola, potentially having the likes of Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Kieran Trippier and Mason Mount - who can all create for wide areas would be a huge boost for Raheem Sterling’s confidence to match his shot numbers at international level.
